Another bucket list adventure in nature and photography

Each fall the Monarch butterfly travels to Mexico to overwinter high in the mountains in Oyamel fir trees.  The culture, spectical and miracle that is the migration is captured every winter.

As a naturalist there was no place on earth I wanted to visit more.  Ground zero as I like to call it.  Darwin was here, Darwin is still here.  Nature so gloriously unimpacted by time.  The evolution, adaptation, sticky heat and raw nature of the island will always stay with me.
